RBD palm olein is one kind of popular palm cooking oil for having longer storage time, standing for some time both in oxidation and making decomposer products in frying temperature. “It is mostly used as palm cooking oil in Philippine in many sectors, namely food service sectors,” Mariati Gustam said, as in the report that Palmoilmagazine got, Friday (23/9/2022)

Top five food services in Philippine are from fast food restaurants. Jollibee is one fast food and advance restaurant in the country within about 1.400 restaurants whole over the country. Palm oil is mostly used in fast food restaurants.

The increasing popularity of fast food restaurant and the increasing preference to takeaway fast food are the main factors to develop food industries. The eating habits of the Philippine’s citizens is influenced by the exposure of the companies in media marketing.

The food service industrial growth in the country is helped by many millennial generations with their friends that seek for cheap food courts. “The expansion of shopping centers and hypermarket network could increase the income of fast food restaurant and food service in the country. This would trigger palm oil demands in Philippine and would depend on palm oil imports from Malaysia and Indonesia,” Mariati Gustam. (T2)
