Palmoilmagazine, PASIR PENGARAIAN – To get the advantages from palm oil plantations, District of Rokan Hulu (Rohul) did accelerate the program of Strategi Nasional Pencegahan Korupsi (Stranas PK) proposed by Corruption Eradication Commission (CEC) Indonesian Republic, particularly about the implementation of one map policy – plantation.
Led by Vice Regent of Rohul, H Indra Gunawan, the regional government did coordination meeting in the hall of Information and Communication Agency District of Rohul last week.
From the meeting Indra through the Secretary of Plantation and Livestock Agency, Samsul Kamar mentioned, this is the second year that the district did coordination meeting about Stranas PK which is in cooperation with CEC.
“The cooperation is directly with CEC. The day before, we did meet with Ministry of Internal Affairs about how to improve palm oil plantation governance in the big five palm oil provinces in Indonesia, such as, Riau,” Samsul said, as in the official statement to Palmoilmagazine.
He also said, in Riau there are many palm oil plantations in forest regions and it needs to improve data. “To get it improved, we need to improve one data in the first place from every line both from the executive, the districts, the provinces, the taxes, and others,” he said.
Samsul told, the three data are different, that is why, Plantation and Livestock Agency of Rohul should establish data again for every permit for the companies which was published or handed over since District of Rohul was established until now.
“The map result in 2019 showed that only 41 percent of our plantations were adjustable with the spatial, 52 percent others were in forest regions. We want to seek for the solution on the forest regions,” he said.
By having one map policy, he continued, we would know about the history establishment of one company – was a company established or in operation before one forest region was regulated, or the reverse.
“From the meeting result, every region mostly had the same issues, such as, some companies operate in forest regions and it needs process to get solution,” Samsul said. (T5)
